Software Project Manager

Job Description

The Software Project Manager will be responsible for leading software development projects while ensuring that IT-related initiatives that impact engineering, security, and software development workflows remain on track. The primary focus will be on software project management, Agile execution, SDLC processes, CI/CD pipeline coordination, and software-hardware integration. The secondary focus includes IT-related project oversight such as system upgrades, cybersecurity compliance, and infrastructure improvements as they relate to software teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead software development projects ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
• Coordinate Agile execution and manage SDLC processes.
• Oversee CI/CD pipeline activities and ensure smooth software-hardware integration.
• Manage IT-related project oversight, including system upgrades and cybersecurity compliance.
• Ensure infrastructure improvements align with the needs of software teams.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4 years of experience in software project management.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and secure release management.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience as a software engineer before transitioning into project management.
• Experience managing software development under cybersecurity frameworks (CMMC, NIST 800-218).
• Strong knowledge of embedded Linux, real-time operating systems (RTOS), or FPGA software.
• Familiarity with IT security policies and engineering-related infrastructure projects.
• Experience with automated security testing tools and SBOM management.
• Technical background in C, C , or Python for embedded and systems-level development.

Work Environment

The work environment will involve close collaboration with engineering, security, and IT teams. The role requires the ability to coordinate across various teams to ensure project milestones are met. The candidate will be working in an environment that involves embedded systems, real-time computing, and cybersecurity-conscious practices. Standard office hours apply, with occasional need for extended hours to meet project deadlines. Dress code is business casual.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
