Job Title: Software Test Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded/Software Systems Test Automation Engineer with a strong focus on C and Python programming. This role is responsible for developing automated test solutions, data post-processing tools, and validation frameworks to ensure the reliability of thermal management components and subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize test automation scripts using Python and C for execution, data collection, and analysis.
• Drive hardware validation efforts for thermal management systems, including compressors, A/C lines, heat exchangers, hoses, coolant pumps, HVAC blowers, and electronic valves.
• Design and implement custom test fixtures to improve validation efficiency, modularity, and repeatability.
• Manage the build and test processes for subsystem bucks composed of thermal components.
• Conduct test planning, execution, inspections, and root cause analysis, ensuring comprehensive documentation of findings.
• Collaborate with design engineers, reliability teams, and suppliers to drive corrective actions on identified failures.
• Maintain and communicate validation schedules, test resources, and blockers to program managers.

Essential Skills

• Strong proficiency in Python and C for automation and data post-processing.
• Experience in Thermodynamics with expertise in refrigeration and coolant systems.
• Experience in hardware validation, test execution, and system analysis.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate across multiple teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1-2 years of software coding within C and/or Python.
• 1-2 years of experience using thermal systems.
• 1-2 years of experience in physical product testing.
• Experience in the automotive industry is a plus.

Work Environment

This position is onsite in Grand Rapids, requiring a commitment of 5 days a week. The role is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to hire. The facility includes 15 large test chambers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
