Job Description
This position is for a Manufacturing Engineer to support a lead manufacturing engineer during the development and validation of new production lines for a new medical device.
Responsibilities
- Support development and validation for new production processes.
- Manage product BOM configurations in PLM system.
- Develop and characterize the manufacturing process window and secure process capability across all variations in production materials and processes.
- Develop and execute plans, including statistical analysis, to evaluate process repeatability through equipment qualification and process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
- Define and generate all required documentation in support of manufacturing protocols, reports, changes, and manufacturing instructions. These include engineering protocols, reports, process risk documents, PFMEA, manufacturing instructions, change orders, and statistical analysis.
- Provide engineering support to manufacturing operations and address quality issues arising on the production floor.
Essential Skills
- Ability to use statistical techniques to analyze data.
- Capable of developing, reviewing, and approving test plans and reports.
- Experience in medical devices manufacturing.
- Interpersonal skills to investigate and collaborate in the investigation of atypical events to support product disposition.
- Experience with PFMEA and Agile PLM.
- Basic knowledge of laser welding and leak tester machines.
- Gauge R&R analysis.
- Medical manufacturing experience.
- Ultrasonic welding.
- Vision inspection system programming.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline.
- Minimum 4 years of experience required.
- Master's Degree in a technical discipline (nice to have).
- Medical device and/or manufacturing experience (nice to have).
- Experience with materials joining processes such as laser welding, ultrasonic welding, or resistance welding (nice to have).
- Laser marking experience (nice to have).
- Experience developing vision inspection/verification systems (nice to have).
- Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment (nice to have).
Work Environment
The role involves working in a dynamic manufacturing setting, dealing with various advanced technologies and equipment such as laser welding, leak tester machines, and vision inspection systems. It requires hands-on involvement and collaboration with production teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met. The typical work hours are standard business hours, with occasional requirements to support production outside of these hours. The dress code is professional attire suitable for a manufacturing environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
