Job Description

We are seeking a talented and innovative Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems, analyzing and testing existing products, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to determine project requirements. This role requires a creative problem-solver who can manage projects from conception through to completion.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems.
• Analyze and test existing products to identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with Engineers, Designers, and Project Managers to determine project requirements.
• Write detailed operational procedures.
• Create budgets and timelines for each project.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Perform design and production trials to improve components.
• Use CAD and 3D CAD programs to plan mechanical design projects.
• Troubleshoot problems and devise solutions.
• Participate in design reviews of mechanical systems and prototypes.
• Coordinate and review engineering schedules with project team members.
• Ensure all products meet safety regulations.
• Review and approve documentation for quality and safety.
• Research other products in the market to generate ideas for improvement.
• Develop and build prototypes to test their function.
• Conduct user research to identify consumer needs.
• Perform project analysis.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in mechanical design and control systems.
• Experience with CAD tools, specifically Solidworks.
• Experience with injection molding/plastic design.
• Experience with design control.
• Project management skills.
• Risk assessment capabilities.
• Experience in an automation environment.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Willingness to travel to the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Ireland (one week out of the month and/or one month off and 2 weeks at a time).
• Experience working with Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) costs for the first 6-8 months.

Work Environment

This role is 100% onsite in a dynamic and innovative environment that handles R&D, packaging, and NREs. The work involves using advanced CAD tools and participating in design reviews. The position requires flexibility to travel internationally as needed. The work setting is collaborative, with a focus on both team and individual contributions to the development of cutting-edge products.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $52.00/hr.
