Job Title: Sr. QA Specialist
Job Description
Responsible for ensuring operational adherence and compliance to Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. This role will contribute to the development and implementation of Quality System improvement strategies and approaches, providing support to Quality Control, Supply Chain, and Production departments.
Responsibilities
- Administer, track, and perform work on individual Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
- Manage and enhance processes for investigating and analyzing returned/complaint materials.
- Review and approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to manufacturing and engineering functions, recommending changes as necessary.
- Manage and maintain the returned goods program and approve product destruction notices.
- Ensure knowledge of identification, traceability, containment requirements, Material Review Board (MRB) responsibilities, and handling of non-conforming materials (NCM).
- Participate in Corporate Quality Management System initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
- Assist in developing training on multiple quality initiatives and requirements, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Gluten-Free standards, and new hire orientation.
- Support qualification activities and maintenance of the Approved Supplier List (ASL), and manage Supplier/vendor Corrective Actions (SCAR).
- Support site customer-requested auditing activities (Customer and Regulatory Agencies).
- Support local Document Control (PLM) and Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems.
- Support Preventive Maintenance, Calibration, and Metrology.
- Support Equipment Qualifications and Test Method Validations.
- Support generation of Quality Plans for the QMS and Organizational Objectives projects.
- Measure and report quality system metrics, providing statistical data and trending analysis.
- Ensure compliance of all site personnel to QMS requirements and adherence to training requirements regarding Quality Management System elements, controls, processes, and procedures.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field preferred.
- 3 years of experience working in a QA function at a dietary supplements or food manufacturing facility.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- HACCP and/or SQF certifications
- Experience managing quality systems such as CAPA’s, product complaints, and recalls.
- Previous experience working within a powder or solid (tablet) the person or leadership experience is a plus.
- Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Manager (CQM) preferred.
- Knowledge of CFR Title 21, Part 111 and NSF regulations.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $41.00/hr.
