Geologist/Geotechnical Engineer (Open to Entry Level Candidates!!)

Job Description

We are seeking an geologist join our team, focusing on the installation of bulkhead support along properties adjacent to the canal. You will serve as the on-site construction quality assurance officer, ensuring that bulkheads are installed correctly and in alignment with specifications, drawings, and construction documents. This role requires you to be present on the physical barge used by the contractor to install these bulkheads, acting as the primary on-site observer.

Responsibilities

• Install bulkhead support along properties along the canal.
• Serve as the on-site construction quality assurance officer.
• Be present on the physical barge used by the contractor to install bulkheads.
• Ensure bulkheads are installed properly and align with specifications, drawings, and construction documents.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Conduct vibration and optical monitoring.
• Analyze optimal mining data.

Essential Skills

• Geology
• Geotechnical engineering
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Construction oversight
• Environmental remediation
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related field
• 1-2 years of experience working on large-scale construction projects on the geotechnical side
• OSHA 40-hour certification
• HAZWOPER certification
• Vibration monitoring

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Attention to detail and ability to interpret complex engineering drawings

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
