Job Title: Superintendent

Job Description

We are seeking a mid-level commercial superintendent to join our team in Virginia Beach. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in K-12 and higher education construction, as well as state and municipality construction. This role requires someone who can lead a team with minimal training, motivate team members, read and interpret construction plans, oversee all aspects of construction, and participate in pre-mobilization, coordination, and closeout meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a construction team on both large and small scale projects.
• Read and interpret construction plans and documents.
• Oversee all aspects of construction from ground up.
• Participate in owner, pre-mobilization, coordination, and closeout meetings.
• Develop overall construction plans for projects.
• Manage subcontractors and ensure site safety.
• Utilize construction management software.

Essential Skills

• Construction management experience.
• General contractor and subcontractor management.
• Experience in commercial construction.
• Proficient in supervision and site construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents.
• Experience with K-12 and higher education construction is a plus.
• Completed OSHA 30 Hour Course for Construction.
• Current First Aid Certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with project management software.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to lead an onsite team.

Work Environment

This position is primarily on-site with varying weather conditions. Proper attire is required. Our team is a small, tight-knit group located near the oceanfront in Virginia Beach. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
