Job Title: Construction Superintendent
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage construction projects from start to finish. The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within budgetary and timeline constraints. This position requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders. Our work site in Fort Worth.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the construction team, including subcontractors and on-site personnel, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers and contractors to develop a comprehensive construction plan, including project timelines, resource allocation, and budgetary considerations.
- Prepare and provide progress reports to owners and architects.
- Estimate costs and ensure the project is on budget.
- Keep track of material stock and orders.
- Obtain required permits and licenses; execute construction contracts according to terms of the agreement.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, address any issues or hazards, and promote a culture of safety among all workers.
- Monitor the quality of workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Conduct inspections, review documentation, and address any deficiencies or non-conformities.
- Track the progress of construction activities, review work schedules, and make adjustments as needed to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
- Prepare a three-week look-ahead schedule weekly for distribution to the Project Manager, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of project activities, including daily reports, work progress, material deliveries, and any incidents or accidents that occur on site.
- Prepare and submit RFIs / Assist in writing RFIs.
- Attend owner's meetings.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or Business Administration preferred.
- At least ten (10) years of construction industry experience required.
- At least 5 years as a superintendent on projects similar in size and complexity with specific experience constructing masonry walls; installing open web steel joist framing, standing seam roofs, plumbing, and fire alarms; HVAC installation and startup.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), Procore.
- USACE EM385-1-1 certification.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Quality Control Certification.
- OSHA HAZWOPER 40 HR.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in preparing and submitting RFIs.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Work Environment
Onsite in Fort Worth. The work environment includes working on construction sites, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions and physical activities such as lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
