Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Superintendent to join our growing team in Peoria, AZ. This is a long-term position created to meet current project demands. The successful candidate will provide onsite field management for a single project, ensuring the safety, coordination, and management of subcontractors, suppliers, and self-performed work.
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite field management for a single project, ensuring safety and coordination of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Assist in implementing project-specific safety and accident prevention programs and maintain safe work areas through regular job-site inspections.
- Coordinate, schedule, and manage all subcontractors and suppliers.
- Select construction practices and methods to accomplish project work.
- Prepare weekly look-ahead schedules, crew task lists, daily reports, and labor tracking reports.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the project schedule and budget, enforcing plans and motivating employees to follow through.
- Assist project superintendent in locating/onboarding manpower, developing/implementing project plans, and maintaining current contract documents.
- Schedule and manage multiple crews performing various tasks across the project site.
- Allocate resources, plan activities, review work, and manage consumables/equipment, including compiling a comprehensive bill of materials and coordinating deliveries.
- Work closely with foremen and superintendents to monitor all activities.
- Prepare subcontractor and supplier agreements and communicate around changes in work or project costs.
- Assist in creating project CAD drawings.
- Ensure quality control, schedules, and plan production.
- Delegate work and provide technical guidance to assure design is technically sound and cost-efficient.
- Assist with project and team management and mentor other design staff.
- Process plans and resolve issues with plan reviewers.
Essential Skills
- At least 4 years of experience with facilities construction projects.
- Knowledge of water/wastewater construction or oil/gas construction experience.
- Experience with electrical/mechanical components in facilities.
- Understanding of how pump stations and lift stations work.
- Experience in reading blueprints.
- Experience in scheduling and managing field crews.
- Experience in creating weekly look-ahead schedules.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in mechanical construction.
- Experience in pipeline construction.
- Experience in subcontractor management.
Work Environment
Projects are located around the Peoria, Glendale, and Phoenix metro area, including water treatment plants, lift stations, booster stations, and reclamation facilities. This is a salaried position with hours generally from Monday to Friday, 6am-2:30pm or 7am-3:30pm, with flexibility based on project demands. The role requires almost 100% fieldwork on project sites with no out-of-state travel. The position includes a vehicle allowance of $700/mo and a gas card, or the use of a company truck if available. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
