Job Title: Triple Hat (Superintendent/SSHO/QC) - Construction Renovation Project
Job Description
We are seeking a highly qualified Triple Hat (Superintendent/SSHO/QC) candidate to oversee a renovation project at the US Coast Guard Base in Miami Beach. The project includes the renovation of the galley, command space (office space), and a chiller replacement. The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate, plan, and supervise subcontractors and craft activities to ensure adherence to plans and specifications, enforce site safety, and provide contractor quality control.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily on-site supervision of subcontractors.
- Monitor contractor production, schedule, and performance.
- Manage subcontractor Daily Production Reports.
- Assist with coordination aspects as directed by the Project Manager.
- Conduct safety audits and assist with contractor quality control and safety at construction locations.
- Assist subcontractors with Federal procedures and rules.
- Ensure contractors complete work on schedule while addressing warranty issues.
- Engage with government officials and contracting officers.
- Communicate daily status of current projects to the Project Manager to ensure timely completion within company standards.
- Maintain 100% compliance readiness in all mandatory/regulatory requirements.
- Maintain 100% safety standards and accountability in all mandatory/regulatory requirements.
- Take necessary action when behaviors or conditions may be unsafe.
- Report and address all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly.
- Document and record any injury or near-miss incident that occurs while working.
- Develop and administer the Quality Control Plan for the project (following Army Corps Three Phases of Control).
- Certify that all submittals comply with contract requirements.
- Review plans and specifications to ensure requirements are met for each construction process.
- Provide documented evaluations, assessments, and CQC assistance to staff and subcontractor personnel.
- Review all catalog cuts and material submittals for compliance with plans and specifications.
- Ensure all water, soil, materials, and mechanical systems testing are conducted by approved personnel and/or approved testing facilities.
- Distribute written inspection/test results to appropriate agencies.
- Ensure effective and timely preventive and corrective actions are taken to eliminate or minimize recurrence of problems.
- Conduct pre-final inspections, establish a punch list if required, and ensure all deficiencies are corrected.
- Coordinate and conduct final inspections with government contracting and civil engineer personnel.
- Submit as-builts on finished projects.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 10 years experience in construction.
- Minimum 5 years experience as a superintendent overseeing similar projects in size and scope.
- Minimum 5 years experience working on federal construction projects on military installations.
- Ability to read, interpret, and document drawings and changes (as-builts).
- Ability to interpret a critical path schedule.
- USACE CQM certification.
- Computer competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and familiarity with Microsoft Projects.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Familiarity with EM-385 standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Federal interior renovation project experience is highly preferred.
- CQM Certification.
- Ability to travel for potential permanent hire opportunities.
Work Environment
The work environment is at the US Coast Guard Base in Miami Beach, which offers scenic views overlooking Fisher Island, Star Island, and Miami Beach.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
