Job Title: Medical Assistant/Surgery Scheduler

Job Type: Full-time, M-F 8:30am- 5pm

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Medical Assistant/Surgery Scheduler to join our busy Colon and Rectal Clinic team. As a Medical Assistant/Surgery Scheduler, you will play a critical role in supporting our physicians and staff with patient care, administrative tasks, and surgical scheduling. Our clinic sees a high volume of patients, so we need someone who can efficiently manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain a calm demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

 Surgery Scheduler Responsibilities:

• Schedule surgical procedures and obtain pre-authorization from insurance companies as necessary
• Coordinate with hospitals and surgery centers to confirm surgical schedules and arrangements
• Communicate with patients and families to provide surgical instructions, answer questions, and address concerns
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of surgical schedules and patient information 

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
• 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a surgical or specialty clinic
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs) and practice management systems
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a high patient volume

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a colon and rectal surgery clinic or similar specialty
• Knowledge of surgical procedures and terminology related to colon and rectal surgery
• Bilingual or multilingual skills

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
