Job Title: Survey Party Chief

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Survey Party Chief to join our growing team. The Survey Party Chief will play a vital role in pre-survey planning meetings with project managers, engineers, and contractors, and will be responsible for leading a 1-2 man crew on site. This position reports to a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) and involves extensive use of GPS equipment for data collection.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 1-2 man crew on site.
• Participate in pre-survey planning meetings with project managers, engineers, and contractors.
• Work under and report to a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS).
• Utilize GPS equipment for data collection.
• Conduct boundary, route, topographic surveying, and construction staking.

Essential Skills

• 2-5 years of surveying experience.
• Experience in boundary surveying, route surveying, topographic surveying, or construction staking.
• Ability to use GPS equipment for data collection.
• Enthusiasm to help build a surveying department.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• AutoCAD experience is a plus.
• Previous party chief experience or experience reporting to a party chief for about 4-5 years and ready to take the next step.

Work Environment

The position is ideally based near Louisville, KY. Candidates from across the state are welcome, though they should be comfortable with occasional travel, including office visits. Travel is limited to KY and potentially some surrounding states, averaging one week (four nights) per month. A daily per diem of $40 is provided when traveling. A vehicle is provided, or mileage reimbursement is available if using a personal vehicle (federal rate).

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
