Land Surveyor OR Survey Crew Chief

Job Description

• The Survey Crew Chief will have the normal responsibilities of a Surveyor but will be the lead member of the field survey crew.
• The successful candidate will perform the essential functions listed below, as well as coordinate with the engineering groups.
• The Crew Chief will have overall responsibility for the field work within the crew.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct, and participate in daily tasks of the survey crew.
• Compute right-of-way and property lines.
• Research property records.
• Verify land ownership for plans and plats according to public records.
• Collect and prepare data files for property plats and topographical maps.
• Accurately measure and record notes and sketches of work performed.
• Compile and tabulate field data in-office.
• Coordinate and communicate with engineering groups pertaining to field requirements and data.
• Continue training in current survey technology and techniques.
• Ensure quality assurance of all work performed by the survey field crew.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of HS Diploma. An AAS Degree or higher is preferred
• 1 years of experience in the field of survey
• Previous leadership experience

Work Environment

• This position will require both field and office work.
• The organization is a mid-size environmental firm with a stable backlog of work, primarily in the private sector with repeat clients.
• Most projects are focused on land development.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
