Job Title: Automotive Technician

Job Description

Actalent is seeking an Automotive Technician, who will be responsible for the installation and removal of powertrain hardware according to engineer specifications. You will document any hardware changes and measurements accurately. Additionally, you will build and assemble wiring harnesses used for powertrain data logging equipment and support truck engineers with hardware and instrumentation installation and removal. Continuous training to gain knowledge of powertrain systems will be part of your role.

Responsibilities

• Install and remove powertrain hardware per engineer directions.
• Ensure hardware is installed according to specifications and document any changes or measurements.
• Build and assemble wiring harnesses for powertrain data logging equipment.
• Support truck engineers with hardware and instrumentation installation and removal.
• Continue to gain knowledge of powertrain systems through ongoing training.

Essential Skills

• Experience with powertrain and automotive systems.
• Proficiency in data logging and troubleshooting.
• Ability to install and remove hardware.
• Experience building and assembling wiring harnesses.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Minimum of 2 years of hardware installation and removal experience.
• Transportation industry experience (automotive, aerospace, bus, truck, etc.).

Work Environment

You will be supporting a fleet of prototype heavy-duty trucks, focusing on the powertrain systems such as the engine, after-treatment, and transmission. These prototype vehicles operate around Oregon 24-7 and come to the facility twice a day for hardware installation and removal. The work environment includes corporate facilities and working directly with trucks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr.
