Job Title: Aerospace R&D Engineering Technician- East Hartford, CT

Job Description

Provide technical and administrative support to the non-destructive testing and evaluation engineering team to facilitate the processing and delivery of inspection tools, analyze NDE data, and track inspector assignments and progress. Coordinate inspection assignments, track inspector results, request quotes from vendors, monitor progress to schedule requirements, and verify requirements met upon delivery. This R&D Lab is developing a universal inspection method for all aerospace parts at every aerospace company by performing and perfecting non-destructive evaluations like Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, and Borescope Techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and inventory support under the direction of NDE Engineers to assist in commercial and military engine projects.
• Prepare parts for FPI, clean parts post-inspection, package parts, and prepare inspection documentation.
• Coordinate inspection assignments and track progress of inspector results.
• Request quotes from vendors, monitor progress to meet schedule requirements, and verify requirements upon delivery.

Essential Skills

• Associate Degree or 2 years of experience with one or more NDE methods (FPI, EC, UST).
• Internship or 6 months of experience in a manufacturing or lab environment.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with training and auditing NDT systems.
• Establishing NDT and general quality systems and NDT methods.
• Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing operations.
• Ability to work independently.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, internal and external customers.
• Knowledge and experience with root cause and process control tools.
• Experience with SAP and Microsoft Suite.
• Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in NDE, measurement/instrumentation, design, and report writing.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00
