Job Title: Test Technician

Job Description

This individual will conduct tests, collect and analyze data, and report any issues and defects to the appropriate team members. You will work closely with the Test Engineer, engineering project team, and other functions to improve and enhance the quality and performance of products. This role is not related to a production line but may involve conducting tests on electrical equipment, motor coils, or powering up motors and gathering data.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tests on electrical equipment and motor coils.
• Power up motors and gather data.
• Assemble tooling for tests.
• Evaluate, disassemble, or repair returned goods and document findings.
• Troubleshoot machinery on the floor.
• Redline documents such as test plans.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment in the test lab.

Essential Skills

• Experience with motors, high voltage, wiring.
• Proficiency with oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Knowledge in electro-mechanical troubleshooting.
• Experience in aerospace and military industry is highly preferred.
• Experience in new product development is highly preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or similar is preferred.
• 2 years' experience testing electro-mechanical products.
• Experience with electric motors or servo drives is essential.
• Ability to read and follow test procedures, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, plug gauges, and other metrology tools.
• Ability to operate and understand test and measurement equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, LCR meters, continuity testers, insulation resistance meters, multimeters, and dielectric strength testers.

Work Environment

The work environment is clean and climate-controlled, with operations within an Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) environment. You will be required to wear ESP coats and steel-toe shoes. The work setting is isolated from the engineering department, although engineering collaborates frequently. The testing area/department consists of three departments: testing, prototype, and precision, with 2-3 individuals in each. Working hours are flexible, ranging from 6am-8am to 2pm-4pm, as long as a 40-hour work week is maintained.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
