Tissue Processing Technician

Job Description

The Tissue Processing Technician will perform debridement, processing, packaging, and labeling of human tissue products for surgical transplantation while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and AATB regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform processing, debridement, packaging, labeling, and shipment of finished product.
• Utilize special techniques, instrumentation, and equipment to clean and size tissue to specifications and protocols.
• Assist Team Lead with efforts in maintaining inventory levels on the core and dock for receiving supplies.
• Perform lab cleaning activities as required by policies, protocols, procedures, and SOPs.
• Work with Quality and Regulatory staff to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and AATB regulations and requirements, particularly those pertaining to manufacturing.
• Correctly complete production documentation as required in tissue processing in accordance with standard operating procedures and quality standards.
• Assist with production records as needed.
• Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma
• Experience with human tissue or skin processing
• Experience with debridement using scalpel and forceps
• Understanding of biology and human tissue

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associates Degree in science preferred but not required
• Prior Medical/Healthcare experience is a plus
• Prior Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience is a plus
• Experience in a regulated environment is a plus
• Desire to be in the position long term
• Comfortable sitting and standing for long periods of time

Work Environment

The work takes place in a clean room environment where wearing PPE such as lab coats, safety glasses, hairnets, and medical gloves is required. The team sizes range from 8-12 members depending on the shift. Openings 3rd shift.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
