Job Title: Transmission Line Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to lead the Power Delivery Team for Florida, primarily supporting projects with major utility companies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the technical execution of high voltage electrical transmission line projects of any size and complexity, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet our client’s quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall technical direction of projects.
- Provide scope and schedule support to the Project Manager, including work breakdown structure development and implementation, change management, and schedule management.
- Support budget planning for proposal development, progress assessment, and change management.
- Lead multiple projects concurrently, utilizing teams in different locations.
- Thoroughly understand and implement internal and clients' management system requirements, processes, and procedures.
- Support scheduling for and/or perform quality reviews for all deliverables.
- Participate in quality control or project reviews for peers and other project teams.
- Coordinate with operations leaders and Project Manager for resource planning and management.
- Work independently as required and may direct, mentor, train, and/or supervise one or more Engineers, Designers, and administrative staff.
- Independently coordinate the work of engineers and the team throughout an entire project life cycle.
- Engage in mentoring/training relationships with junior engineers or designers.
Essential Skills
- 5 years of Transmission Line Design/Engineering experience.
- Proficiency in PLS CADD and PLS-Pole.
- BS degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-Accredited institution.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Good leadership skills and a strong willingness to learn.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
- Experience in structure analysis, project cost estimates, plan and profile preparation, load and designs, specifications and drawings, permitting, and other engineering documents.
- Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm.

Work Environment
The office is located in downtown Orlando, set in a beautiful building across the street from Lake Eola, with included parking available at any time. The office houses about 80 employees, including Engineers, Designers, Drafters, Project Managers, and Administrative staff, all supporting a variety of engineering disciplines such as Civil, Transportation, Roadway, Building, Water, Airport, MEP, and Federal. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
