Job Title: Traveling Superintendent

Job Description

The Construction Traveling Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing the construction project from the field. The ideal candidate will manage on-site construction activities, ensure project timelines and budgets are met, and maintain high standards of quality and safety. This role requires extensive travel and the ability to adapt to different work environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractors and coordinate their activities.
• Read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
• Implement and enforce OSHA 30 safety standards.
• Supervise large retail remodels and renovations.
• Ensure quality control throughout the construction process.
• Coordinate and manage site construction activities.

Essential Skills

• 5 years of experience as a superintendent managing retail projects.
• Ability to manage interior renovations.
• Experience in commercial construction.
• Proficiency in construction management.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Subcontractor management skills.
• Project management expertise.
• Knowledge of construction safety standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification.
• Experience with shop drawings.
• Experience with large retail remodels and renovations.

Work Environment

This role requires extensive travel and the ability to adapt to different work environments. The position involves working a day shift on the road, with the current project based in Springfield, Illinois, and the next project lined up in Indiana. Traveling superintendents will be provided with lodging and a daily stipend of $45 for five days a week. Mileage expenses from the jobsite to home can also be expensed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
