Job Title: Utility Inspector

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Utility Inspector to join our team and replace lead service lines with copper ones. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction, be bilingual in Spanish, and possess strong communication skills to interact with clients daily.

Responsibilities

• Inspect water mains and other structures (e.g., roads, dams, bridges) to ensure structural soundness, safety, and compliance with codes and regulations.
• Document inspection results, including deterioration, structural condition, deficiencies between design and execution, and any required sampling.
• Monitor progress and contribute to construction and project status reports.
• Oversee and coordinate construction-related services on projects.
• Conduct on-site investigations and review relevant data, including maps, reports, tests, and drawings.
• Comply with guidelines and regulations, including permits and safety, and deliver required technical documentation.

Essential Skills

• OSHA 10 certification
• Strong communication skills
• 1 years of construction experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
• Experience in excavation, site development, construction inspection, and surveying
• Technical proficiency and design application knowledge
• Understanding of the construction process for large commercial, municipal, or federal projects
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with computers, tablets, and mobile devices
• Strong writing and oral communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills

Work Environment

The role involves canvassing and surveying areas, inspecting pipes, and taking photos. Inspectors will carry a tablet with a mobile app to assist in their duties. The work sites are between Edison, NJ, and Newark, NJ. The position requires a vehicle, and mileage will be reimbursed. Opportunities for overtime pay are available. Typical working hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
