What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welding Engineer position at Actalent?
Welding Engineer
Looking for a welding Engineer to do the following:
- Establish new welding procedures to meet welding codes standards
- Revise and expand current welding procedures (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, Resistance) to correct defects and improve quality
- Generate welder performance qualification data (WPQs)
- Interact with databases for WPS generation/welder administration
- Perform weld strength calculations on engineering designs as needed
- Perform studies/experiments on optimization of welding process/procedures to improve production efficiency
- Investigate and introduce new technologies such as cobot welding, laser welding, EB welding, as appropriate for needs
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Exp working with NAVSEA (navy) helpful
- CWI/CWE would be preferred
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
Company paid Med, Den and Vis ins for employee and all dependents
8 personal days up front

Office closed between Christmas and New Years - paid
87% retention rate
