Requirements
What you will do:
- Provide clean, actionable data from both IT and manufacturing systems for analysis.
- Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines that collect, clean, and process large volumes of structured and unstructured data from diverse sources, including manufacturing equipment (e.g., PLCs, SCADA systems, MES, and ERP).
- Apply industry-standard software engineering practices (version control, testing, continuous integration, etc.) to analytics code, ensuring reliability in industrial environments.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and automation teams to integrate sensor data, production metrics, and control system outputs, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accuracy.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues in manufacturing automation systems to optimize production efficiency and process quality.
- Develop and optimize data models tailored to manufacturing operations, supporting detailed reporting and real-time analytics.
- Create dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Plotly Dash, or similar platforms to enable stakeholders to make informed decisions regarding production, quality, and process efficiency.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of data workflows, manufacturing data sources, processes, and solutions.
- Train users on effectively leveraging data visualization tools and platforms to enhance operational decision-making in a manufacturing context.
- Continuously enhance data infrastructure performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness with a focus on supporting industrial automation and manufacturing processes.
What you will need:
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Plotly Dash.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or SharePoint.
- Strong proficiency in SQL Server and relational databases.
- Hands-on programming experience with languages such as Python, R, or Java.
- Experience with containerized deployments like Docker and Kubernetes for streamlined development, testing, and production environments.
- Familiarity with Unified Namespace (UNS) concepts.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of industrial automation systems, including PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering tangible business outcomes in both IT and manufacturing environments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 years of hands-on experience in data analytics, data engineering, or a related role—experience within manufacturing automation and controls is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively across multiple teams and divisions, including manufacturing operations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, fast learner open to adopting new technologies and methodologies in both data analytics and manufacturing automation.
