The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in data engineering, analytics, and visualization and manufacturing expertise.

This is a full-time, permanent role best suited for individuals who have successfully juggled multiple fast-paced projects—especially in client-facing or external customer environments.

You will design and implement efficient data pipelines, perform advanced analytics, and generate actionable insights to drive both IT and manufacturing process improvements. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams—including manufacturing and automation engineers—you will ensure our data infrastructure approach is scalable, reliable, and secure while adhering to industry-specific standards and best practices.

Requirements

What you will do:

  • Provide clean, actionable data from both IT and manufacturing systems for analysis.
  • Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines that collect, clean, and process large volumes of structured and unstructured data from diverse sources, including manufacturing equipment (e.g., PLCs, SCADA systems, MES, and ERP).
  • Apply industry-standard software engineering practices (version control, testing, continuous integration, etc.) to analytics code, ensuring reliability in industrial environments.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and automation teams to integrate sensor data, production metrics, and control system outputs, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues in manufacturing automation systems to optimize production efficiency and process quality.
  • Develop and optimize data models tailored to manufacturing operations, supporting detailed reporting and real-time analytics.
  • Create dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Plotly Dash, or similar platforms to enable stakeholders to make informed decisions regarding production, quality, and process efficiency.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of data workflows, manufacturing data sources, processes, and solutions.
  • Train users on effectively leveraging data visualization tools and platforms to enhance operational decision-making in a manufacturing context.
  • Continuously enhance data infrastructure performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness with a focus on supporting industrial automation and manufacturing processes.

Technical Proficiency

What you will need:

  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Plotly Dash.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or SharePoint.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL Server and relational databases.
  • Hands-on programming experience with languages such as Python, R, or Java.
  • Experience with containerized deployments like Docker and Kubernetes for streamlined development, testing, and production environments.

Industrial & Manufacturing Expertise

  • Familiarity with Unified Namespace (UNS) concepts.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of industrial automation systems, including PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies.

Analytical Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering tangible business outcomes in both IT and manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 years of hands-on experience in data analytics, data engineering, or a related role—experience within manufacturing automation and controls is preferred.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively across multiple teams and divisions, including manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, fast learner open to adopting new technologies and methodologies in both data analytics and manufacturing automation.
