InterMoor Inc is looking to add an experienced certified Forklift Operator to the team. The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count materials. The Forklift Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform order filling and checker duties.
The Forklift Operator position is a full-time position consisting of a 5/2 schedule in Port Fourchon. The 5/2 schedule Monday/Friday (12hrs per shift). Commuting back and forth to work each day is preferred, but a bunk house is also available if needed for personnel living out of the area unable to commute to Port Fourchon.
Duties
- Unload inbound shipments safely and move materials to storage locations
- Efficiently stack and store the materials in the appropriate areas
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances
- Pull and prepare material for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of material is loaded and shipped
- Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards
- Efficiently move material from staging and/or storage areas into trucks or trailers
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment
- Use radio frequency equipment for picking, receiving, put away, and load functions, as required
- Maintain the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion
- On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods
- Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that exact inventory control and security are maintained. Assist in physical inventories. Ensure proper stock rotation
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
- Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5 years' experience as a forklift operator
- Forklift certification, required
- Ability to run heavy lift and extend-a-boom forklifts
- Rigger certification, preferred
- TWIC card
- Experience moving oil field related equipment is a plus, but is not necessary
- Ability to work safely, follow instructions, and work well within a team
- Good history of being punctual to work
