Caregiver/PCA

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or those residing in personal care homes or group homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living environments and a genuine passion for helping others.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' well-being.
• Administer first aid when necessary and ensure the safety of clients at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment for clients, ensuring hygiene standards are met.
• Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop personalized care plans.
• Document client progress and report any changes in health or behavior to the appropriate personnel.
• Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation in community events.

Experience

• Previous experience in assisted living, group home settings, or personal care homes is preferred.
• Familiarity with systems used for managing client care is a plus.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of dementia care practices is beneficial.
• A background in social work can enhance the understanding of client needs and support strategies.
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy towards clients.
