Job Description: In-Home Caregiver for Veterans
Acti-Kare Responsive In-Home Care is seeking compassionate and dependable caregivers to provide non-medical support to veterans in their homes. As a caregiver, you will help improve the quality of life for those who have served our country by assisting with daily activities and offering companionship.
Responsibilities include:
- Assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting (as needed)
- Meal preparation and assistance with feeding
- Medication reminders (no medication administration)
- Light housekeeping and laundry
- Transportation to appointments or errands
- Encouragement with physical activity and mobility
- Companionship and emotional support
- Monitoring safety and reporting changes in condition
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience as a Caregiver, CNA or HHA, or completion of a CNA Program
- Well-organized and reliable
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and physically perform job-related duties
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
- Positive and compassionate attitude
- Available to work weekday shifts
- Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
- A heart for helping others, especially veterans
- Ability to pass a background check
