Job Title: IT Business Analyst
Location: Thomasville, NC (100% Onsite)
Duration: 10 Month Contract
Job Description:
Old Dominion Freight Line (ODFL) is seeking a client-facing IT Business Analyst to join ourteam on a 10 month contract in Thomasville, NC. This role is 100% onsite and will require strong analytical skills, business process knowledge, and excellent communication to collaborate with stakeholders and IT teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams to gather, document, and analyze requirements.
- Work closely with end users, developers, and project managers to translate business needs into functional specifications.
- Conduct business process analysis and identify areas for improvement in existing IT systems and workflows.
- Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions, stakeholder interviews, and process mapping workshops.
- Develop use cases, user stories, workflow diagrams, and functional documentation to support system changes.
- Collaborate with QA teams to validate system functionality and assist in user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Support project implementation, system rollouts, and end-user training as needed.
- Ensure that IT solutions align with business objectives and drive operational efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure project success.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst in a client-facing role.
- Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies, requirement gathering, and process mapping.
- Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and working with development teams.
- Proficiency in creating BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and workflow diagrams.
- Ability to facilitate meetings, elicit requirements, and document business processes clearly.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with both business and technical teams.
- Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, or similar project management and documentation tools.
- Must be able to work 100% onsite in Thomasville, NC for the full contract duration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the transportation, logistics, or freight industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, CRM platforms, or reporting tools.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and working in a Scrum environment.
Additional Information:
- This is a 10 month contract with potential for extension.
- 100% onsite role in Thomasville, NC – remote work is not an option
