Job Summary:
The On-Call position will fullful three roles as needed: Laundry Tech, Janitor, Maid. This is an on-call position, hours and shifts may vary and are not guaranteed.
Pay Rate: $17.75 - $18.50 per hour
Shifts: May be asked to work Day Shift (8:00am - 4:30pm); Mid Shift (6:00pm - 2:30am); or Night Shift (11:30pm - 8:00am)
- Janitor - This position is responsible for basic cleaning; maintaining floors, stairways, carpets, and mats (sweep, vacuum, mop); remove trash and recyclables; empty and clean public ashtrays and urns; clean interior glass/ mirrors; clean drinking fountains; and general spot cleaning. Upon notification, the janitor will be required to do classroom set ups and tables. The position may also be responsible for the moving of lodging room furniture which includes but is not limited to: mattresses, box springs, bed frames, head boards, small refrigerators, and microwaves. The janitor is also responsible for basic restroom and locker room cleaning which includes disinfecting, descaling, stocking supplies, and caring for floors.
- Maid - Lodging rooms shall be cleaned in accordance with the same standards established for janitorial services including the following additional performance standards. Replace towels, wash cloths, sheets, and pillowcases. Upon check-out, ensure all cabinets and drawers are cleaned and emptied of any items left behind.
- Laundry Tech - In house laundry service, all linens including sheets, pillowcases, blankets, bedspreads, mattress pads, pillow covers, towels and washcloths, for lodging rooms and tablecloths for periodic special events. All items must be washed, dried, folded, and packaged neatly. Clean to the same standards as those listed for janitorial services.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- 6 months previous janitorial/ custodial experience
- Must be able to pass a background check upon hire
- Must be able to work as needed for all three shifts
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Able to follow written and verbal directions
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good client/customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively with a team
- Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products.
- Dependable and a team player
