What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Energy (Weatherization) Helper / Assistant position at ACTION, Inc.?
SUMMARY:
A local nonprofit organization has an opening for a Home Energy Helper / Assistant. This position will assist Inspectors who are making initial and final inspections of the outside and inside of homes selected for program services. One or more years of work experience as a Construction Helper or similar job is strongly desired. The work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. MAJOR DUTIES:
· Assist in carrying and setting up equipment, supplies, and tools.
· Must maintain confidentiality of all participant information.
· Relate well with low-income and elderly program participants.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Ability to lift between 50 and 75 pounds, use ladders, climb under houses with a low clearance, and crawl in attics.
· Must be able to work in an outdoor environment.
· Must have valid driver’s license, transportation, and appropriate vehicle insurance coverage for travel to the home office, meetings and trainings. The Assistant will ride with the Inspector who will drive to the job sites using an Agency vehicle.
· Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and reliably with others.
· Demonstrated dependability in previous job(s).
