What are the responsibilities and job description for the ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN position at ACTION MANUFACTURING COMPANY?
Ability to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install electronic equipment.
Knowledge of electronic principles and procedures. Ability to maintain files of equipment and equipment maintenance records.
Ability to communicate with contractors. · Work involves the modification, maintenance, and repair of a variety of electronic devices used for testing and research purposes. Work also includes the installation and maintenance of electrical circuits and equipment. ·
Maintains, repairs, and calibrates a variety of electronic instruments and equipment, including amplifiers, temperature controls, measuring and recording devices, and experimental systems, as well as, electronics shop testing equipment and electronic computers. ·
Builds new electronic equipment from schematic designs; selects and lays out components; debugs and tests circuits. · Lays out, builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems, such as computer equipment, instrumentation, test equipment, and machine tool numerical controls, applying principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, engineering, Mathematics, electronic and electrical testing, and physics. ·
Sets up standard test apparatus or devises test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production model. · Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance. · May instruct and supervise other technical personnel. · Work is carried out with a substantial amount of technical independence under the general supervision of a superior. Work is reviewed in progress and by observation of results.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Considerable knowledge of the hazards and proper safety precautions of the work. Knowledge of the operation and uses of electronic testing equipment, oscilloscopes, vacuum tube voltmeters, oscillators, pulse and function generators, tube and transistor testers, potentiometers, bridges, and power supplies.
Considerable knowledge of the principles of electronics. Ability to read and interpret complex electronic schematic and wiring diagrams. Skill in the use of standard electronics shop tools and instruments.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to understand and perform the job function as stated in the job description. Make calculations employing prescribed mathematical formulas. Background in Military Specs and procedures is a plus.
Experience in soldering is a plus, also. Accuracy in job performance.
