Description:
The Custodian assumes responsibility for the condition and cleanliness of the center.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing duties such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and waxing hallways, offices, classrooms, walls and other areas of building
- Empties trash receptacles and bags trash for proper disposal.
- Moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures
- Secures area after performing cleaning duties
- Keep inventory of custodial supplies, and notifies supervisor as restocking is needed.
- Sweeps and mops floors
- Mixes or blends routine cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various tasks
- Washes blinds, windows, and walls with prescribed solutions as needed.
- Sweeps sidewalks, porches, and tiled surfaces
- Maintains equipment; reports needs for painting and minor building or equipment repair to supervisor
- Replaces light bulbs
- Reports safety hazards to supervisor
- Performs custodial related duties necessary to maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions
- Performs many varied custodial tasks necessary for the upkeep of building and grounds
- Responsible for notifying Lead Teacher/Center Coordinator when unsupervised children are detected.
- Responsible for care and accountability of assigned assets including inventory and records of such.
- Perform all duties in a safe and professional manner
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Education: High School Diploma/GED is preferred
Other: Valid Georgia Driver’s License.
