Job summary:
Prepare and transport parts, material, waste, and/or supplies. Review incoming/outgoing documentation and material. Perform all work in connection with wrapping, packing, and boxing parts, assemblies, tooling, and other miscellaneous items for shipment loading/unloading trucks. Perform hand counts of various inventory, receivables, and/or in-process items.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Perform counts of shipments, receivables, inventory, and in-process parts. Match counts, sheets, cards, routings, commodity codes, and other records as required.
• Prepare a variety of manufactured parts and accessories for shipment to distributors and customers worldwide. Must be thoroughly familiar with packing requirements for both domestic and export shipping relative to weights, classes, enclosures, fill-in material, etc. Special care is to be given to delicate fixtures, gages, and electrical equipment when handling and packing.
• Adhere to established packing procedures.
• Select appropriate containers or create custom shipping containers for items that do not have established containers. Use of simple hand/power tools may be required.
• Maintain and distribute records including inventory, routings, counts, commodity codes, etc. in accordance with company requirements.
• Lift and transport material in a safe, practical manner utilizing overhead cranes, forklift, and other devices. Safely stack/unstack loads on high level pallet racks and cantilever racks.
• Refer to pack procedures, sketches, and/or blueprints to determine correct stencil and stencil containers per shipping documents.
• Repaint and re-stencil reusable containers as required.
• Place records in pockets, storage tubes or other prescribed holders as diagrammed on pack procedure, sketch/blueprint.
• Collect waste and dispose of in proper waste receptacles. Collect chip bins, scrap, garbage, etc. and properly consolidate.
• Have thorough knowledge of plant departments and locations. Must be capable of working independently and without constant supervision.
• Visually examine containers and parts for damage. Keep empty containers free of dirt and garbage.
• Collect empty trays and pallets to keep floor neat and organized.
• Properly secure loads on trucks for transportation.
• Organize, label and stack in-process hardware in areas assigned.
• Gather, maintain, and process shipping documents and related paperwork.
• Maintain security files and confidentiality of documents.
• Maintain various logs on a computer or manually.

Education and Experience:
• Have a high school diploma or GED equivalence.
• Valid VA Driver's License.
• Apply basic math skills.
• Knowledge, understanding, and applying proper truck loading/unloading procedures.
• Be able to safely drive the truck used to transport parts, materials, supplies, etc.
• Operate other manual and motorized material handling equipment.
• Possess skills necessary to maintain accurate documentation of procedures and computerized inventory systems.
• At least two years of experience.
Physical Requirements:
• Comfortable standing or walking for long periods.
• Ability to frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
