The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all production operations across three shifts, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with internal procedures and external regulatory standards. This role coordinates daily activities among Senior Process Engineers, Process Engineers, Jr. Process Engineers, Set-Up Technicians, Quality Leaders, Inventory Technicians, and Supervisors. The Production Manager ensures that production goals are met while maintaining product integrity, minimizing downtime and scrap, and driving continuous improvement efforts across the plant floor.
This position reports directly to the Production Director and provides daily shift updates regarding key issues, performance, and operational clarity.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and coordinate all production activities across 3 shifts.

Manage Shift Supervisors, Process Engineers, Set-Up Technicians, Inventory Technicians, and Quality Leaders to ensure smooth daily operations.

Ensure accurate and timely entry of production data into IQMS, including end-of-shift reporting by Inventory Techs.

Monitor and enforce compliance with current procedures, SOPs, and industry certifications including cGMP, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, and AS9100.

Review and analyze daily production reports with focus on scrap reduction, downtime minimization, and KPI achievement (Utilization and Scheduling).

Support and collaborate with Customer Service, Quality, and Project Engineering teams to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Investigate internal issues, customer complaints, or product returns, and take corrective actions when necessary.

Develop and deliver employee training through written documentation and direct instruction.

Monitor and evaluate performance of Shift Leaders and team members, providing coaching and feedback as needed.

Maintain 5S standards and enforce a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Assign labor effectively to support production demands across 48 presses.

Manage and optimize production processes to meet quality and performance goals (e.g., 60% press utilization, <3.4% internal scrap).

Make informed decisions regarding equipment use, maintenance, and upgrades.

Lead cost control initiatives and evaluate cost vs. value to ensure operational efficiency.

Enforce company policies, applying disciplinary action when required.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum of 10 years’ supervisory or management experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of quality principles and manufacturing best practices.

Comfortable working with metrics, KPIs, and production reports.

Professional demeanor with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
