Warehouse Maintenance Mechanic

Warehouse Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for assisting in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of warehouse equipment and systems. This role ensures that all machinery and equipment operate safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preventive Maintenance:

   • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on warehouse machinery, including conveyors, forklifts, and packaging equipment.
   • Lubricate, clean, and adjust machinery to ensure smooth operation.

2. Equipment Repairs:

   • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
   • Replace worn or defective parts such as bearings, belts, and motors under supervision.
   • Support emergency repairs to reduce downtime.

3. Facility Maintenance:

   • Help maintain building systems, including lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical fixtures.
   • Perform minor repairs to floors, walls, and other structural components as needed.

4. Safety Compliance:

   • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
   • Report any hazards, equipment malfunctions, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

   • Record maintenance activities, including repairs and inspections, in logs or computerized systems.
   • Assist in maintaining an inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.

6. Collaboration and Training:

   • Work closely with experienced mechanics and technicians to learn best practices.
   • Participate in training sessions to develop technical skills and knowledge of warehouse systems.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or GED required. Technical certification or vocational training in mechanics or a related field is a plus.
• Experience: No prior experience required, but some mechanical or technical background preferred.
• Skills:
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and multimeters.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures and warehouse environments.
