Industrial Hygienist Job Summary : The Industrial Hygienist is responsible for conducting assessments to identify and evaluate workplace hazards, developing and implementing safety and health programs, and providing training and guidance to personnel in areas of safety, health, and environmental protection. The Industrial Hygienist must have knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards, as well as the ability to interpret and apply them in a variety of work settings. The Industrial Hygienist must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and make sound decisions. The ideal candidate will also be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.Responsibilities for Industrial Hygienist Position may require short-term travel throughout the United States.Evaluating and recommending specific equipment and facilities to comply with regulatory and multiple customer's industrial hygiene policies and procedures.Perform oversight, documentation, and air monitoring for asbestos, mold, and lead remediation activities at all types of facilities, including industrial, chemical, oil / gas, commercial, and mine operations.Work typically occurs during regular business hours but will also include nights, weekends, and holidays as required by project schedules.Must be familiar with Life Safety Critical Processes such as Lock Out Tag Out, Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, Line Break, Excavation, Elevated Work, Hydro Blasting, and other critical operations.Analyzing data and advising appropriate recommendations to prevent new or recurring accidents.Conducting risk analysis using recognized techniques, including HAZOP, FMEA, and PHA.Prioritize IH-related risks and develop and assist with implementing corrective action and preventive action plans.Provide technical support for new projects and modifications to ensure proper IH design review, containment verification, and routine / maintenance evaluation after process / equipment installed / implemented.Provide an EH&S review and approval and / or recommendations for capital construction, special projects, and Hazmat remediation for compliance with applicable standards, policies, and industrial hygiene guidance / recommendations to ensure safety for staff.Qualifications for Industrial Hygienist Must be able to work on teams independently with minimal direct supervision.Familiarity with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Adobe).Three years or more experience as a Safety Engineer and / or Industrial Hygienist, with at least 2 of those years engaged with HAZMAT.BS degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or related science-based discipline.In-depth knowledge of safety regulations.Ability to identify and assess workplace hazards.Ability to develop and implement safety plans.Proficiency in recordkeeping.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Strong organizational and analytical skills.Ability to work in a team.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.#J-18808-Ljbffr
