As a Wheelchair / Rehabilitation Technician at Action, you will work alongside other professionals to provide the most appropriate, best-fitting mobility equipment. You will learn the multifaceted world of Complex Rehab Technology and be an integral part of our team to provide repairs and modifications to mobility equipment.
Responsibilities include:
- Repairing specialty and high-end wheelchairs and complex rehab equipment for Action Seating & Mobility customers; includes setting schedule for pick-up, delivery, providing loaners, ordering replacement parts, repairing, documenting repairs for billing, and making notations in computer system
- Assisting with deliveries and set-ups as requested by Rehab Specialist/Assistive Technology Professional
- Receiving equipment and parts, and building/assembling equipment per specifications as needed
- Maintaining an accurate and efficient workflow for processing service orders including related documentation
- Provide detailed report on findings for repair equipment through documentation system, quote out parts required to complete repairs, and enter into documentation system. Responsible to respond in a timely manner to requests for additional information, and to investigate problems and resolve with appropriate staff
- Using our software system to document service orders and inventory. This includes order entry, inventory, notes, and report writing.
- Maintain warehouse and inventory in clean and organized manner to improve efficiency.

- Training on equipment specifications, assembly, troubleshooting and repairs. This training is ongoing for all Action Rehab Technicians and ATP’s.

- Continued education on equipment/electronics set up and repair, and funding requirements.

Requirements:Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years rehab experience or approved training preferred
- High mechanical aptitude
- In an average 8-hour day the employee lifts/carries up to 35 lbs frequently, stands 4-6 hours, sits 2- 4 hours, drives 1-2 hours, and lifts/carries up to 85 lbs
- Clean and neat in personal appearance
- Excellent driving record required
The main tasks for this position are equipment repair evaluations and repair, new equipment assembly, and delivery and setup of equipment.
