Position Summary :
Design, integrate, and improve manufacturing systems and related processes. This position will work closely with all teams in our organization improve our processes, quality, cost, delivery, safety, and moral.
What are the essential functions?
Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations.Supervise technicians, technologists, analysts, administrative staff, or other engineers.Troubleshoot new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes.Review product designs for manufacturability or completeness.Train production personnel in new or existing methods.Communicate manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.Design, install, or troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.Prepare documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures.Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.Investigate or resolve operational problems, such as material use variances or bottlenecks.Estimate costs, production times, or staffing requirements for new designs.Evaluate manufactured products according to specifications and quality standards.Purchase equipment, materials, or parts.Design layout of equipment or workspaces to achieve maximum efficiency.Design testing methods and test finished products or process capabilities to establish standards or validate process requirements.What do you need to be able to do?
Pursuing or have received bachelor’s degree related to manufacturing processes or engineering1-2 years process improvement experienceEffectively use CAD system for 3D modeling and 2D drawings (Creo 2.0 preferred)Effectively use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Knowledge of engineering first principles (physics, thermodynamics, etc.)Action Target is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
