Action Water Sports is looking to fill the position of Boat Service Technician at our Traverse City location. Our Traverse City location services the tip of the mitt boating community and carries premier brands such as MasterCraft Boats, Cobalt Boats and Barletta Pontoons. *Must have both mechanical and electrical experience.
Tasks Include:
- Diagnostic skills: Understand mechanical and electronically controlled systems and be able to efficiently diagnose faults.
- Mechanical skills: Correctly repair damage and malfunctions to manufacturer specifications
- Comprehend written work descriptions and coordinate with our service lead team to resolve customer concerns
- Communicate with customers in order to understand concerns and needs
- Training: Learn from manufacturer and in house training and apply the skills taught
- Identify boat system maintenance and repair needs for up-sell recommendations
- Most work is done in our modern, climate-controlled indoor shop, but some times we are called on to provide dockside service
- Assist in other areas as needed
- Work with the parts department in order to identify correct parts and to verify correct billing
- Use shop equipment correctly for a safe and efficient work environment
- Additionally, responsibilities include assisting with inventory management and parts sales for the multiple brands we represent
Technical and Physical Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work safely around the water
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Basic boat handling skills preferred
- Provide your own basic tools and tool storage
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $37.00 per hour
