What are the responsibilities and job description for the Zipline Tour Guide position at Action Zipline Tours?
NBD Action Zipline, Inc. is now hiring two Zipline Tour Guides. This a great opportunity to work outdoors and enjoy nature, while having fun! This position will be part-time during training and may become full-time when training and certification is completed. Hours will vary depending upon business volume. Availability to work weekends and holidays is a requirement. This position requires physical activity outdoors. Zipline Tour Guides are responsible for ensuring the safety of all zipline guests, as well as providing an exceptional experience. Responsibilities include assisting guests in proper harness and helmet fitting, demonstrating proper ziplining techniques, operating the zipline tour, breaking guest’s speed upon incoming approach, performing retrievals and rescues, inspecting equipment, and driving guests on the zipline property.
Qualification Requirements:
Zipline Tour Guides must:
- Be 18 years old or older.
- Be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Be able to work at heights comfortably.
- Be able to communicate effectively with both adults and children, in group and individual settings; excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
- Have great attention to detail to promote safety, timely tours and a positive guest experience.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times
- Possess a valid driver’s license to be able to drive company vehicles.
- Have reliable transportation to the zipline property in Angelus Oaks (off Highway 38, ~20 mins east of Big Bear Lake), which is not serviced by public transportation.
- Be able to work weekends & holidays.
Experience and Education:
High school diploma or general education degree. Prior experience with outdoor recreation, athletics, educational roles, high ropes instructor experience, or ziplining is a plus.
Pre-Employment Physical and Drug Testing:
Because safety is extremely important, and because Zipline Tour Guides will be expected to drive company vehicles with passengers on the zipline property, potential employees will be subject to pre-employment physical and drug testing (not including THC).

Pay: From $20.50 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
