What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Center Manager position at ActioNet?
ActioNet has an opportunity for a Data Center Manager requiring a Public Trust clearance in the Washington, D.C., metro area. Hybrid work is available. You will play a multifaceted role and be the main Point of Contact (POC) to oversee the management of day-to-day operations, maintenance, and new installations within our data centers. The ideal candidate will have extensive data center management experience and a strong understanding of IT infrastructure. The right candidate will work well with a team, exhibit excellent customer service skills, be self-motivated, and seek ways to improve the environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction for day-to-day operations and maintenance of the data centers including planning and coordination, ensuring high availability and performance, managing staff and vendors
- Manage new installations and upgrades within data centers
- Ensure data center infrastructure is reliable and efficient
- Collaborate with other teams to support data center operations
- Develop and implement data center policies and procedures
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members.
Basic Qualifications (required):
- 8 years of experience in data center management including managing and leading large multi-cloud hybrid-cloud environment
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and data center operations
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, engineering, or related field
- ITIL 4
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Centre Expert (CDCE), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Data Center, Project Management Professional (PMP))
