Description
ActioNet is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to independently execute the design, integration, and implementation of a high-speed, fully redundant Cisco-based Software-Defined Network (SDN) solution for the Base Area Network (BAN) at MCRD San Diego (Hybrid Role). The ideal candidate will possess advanced expertise in Cisco networking technologies, enterprise services integration, and cybersecurity systems, coupled with a strong understanding of phased project implementation.

Responsibilities :
- Network Design and Architecture :
- Independently design and develop a high-speed, redundant Software-Defined Access (SDA) Layer 3 agnostic data transport architecture.
- Leverage network standardization, segmentation, and virtualization principles to create a robust and scalable solution.
- Ensure integration with existing USMC Enterprise Services, including DNS, NTP, LDAP, DHCP, 802.1X, and Command and Control Communications (C2C).
- Act as the primary subject matter expert in Cisco technologies, including Catalyst switches, Nexus data center platforms, and Cisco DNA Center for SDA management.
- Develop and execute strategies for implementing Cisco SD-WAN solutions to enhance network reliability and performance.
- Systems Integration :
- Lead the integration of production designs into the installation environment, ensuring compatibility with enterprise network and cybersecurity systems.
- Address and resolve risks, roadblocks, and logistical challenges to ensure seamless implementation.
- Fully execute phased project delivery
- Independently integrate Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for robust network access control and policy enforcement.
- Network Implementation and Testing :
- Implement and thoroughly test the designed network architecture to ensure compliance with Key System Attributes and specified performance metrics.
- Independently verify system interoperability and functionality within the operational environment.
- Configure and validate Cisco network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Stakeholder Collaboration :
- Engage directly with government stakeholders, project teams, and other key personnel to align on requirements and project goals.
- Independently provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Documentation and Compliance :
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network designs, configurations, and testing procedures.
- Develop and maintain configuration templates and automation scripts using tools such as Python and Ansible.
