An automotive component manufacturer in the Berkley, MI area is searching for a Business Development Manager. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of sales/business development experience in the automotive industry and have experience with working with Japanese OEMs. This is a full-time, direct-hire position with a great benefits package.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the lead liaison between company and customers
- Create new business opportunities based on plan to achieve customer growth objectives
- Coordinate pre-quite meetings and contract review phase with customers
- Ensure customer contracts and agreements adhere to appropriate terms and conditions
- Provide oversight on product costing and negotiating prices
- Procure tooling purchase orders for part approval process
- Lead interface on customer audits
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field
- 10 years of related sales/business development experience in automotive industry
- Experience working with Japanese OEMs (preferably Honda, Nissan or Toyota)
- Prefer at least general knowledge of interior trim and seating components
- Japanese language skills preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to travel up to 25 percent
