An international automotive component manufacturer in the Livonia, MI area is searching for an Engineering Manager responsible overseeing the engineering staff in the Product Engineering Department. This is a day shift position, full time and direct hire with benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Manage engineering staff and assign daily tasks
- Collaborate with management team to ensure program goals are being met
- Lead design reviews with product design teams members
- Oversee the implementation and adherence to quality standards, schedule goals and budgeting
- Gain and maintain knowledge of commercial vehicle competitors
- Consult with other internal departments in the sharing of technologies and objectives
- Adhere to overall vehicle program schedules
- Work with suppliers and other departments to achieve targeted schedules
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- At least 7 years of related automotive automotive product design experience
- At least 5 years of management experience
- Experience with GD&T, FEA and DFMEA
- Experience with Siemens NX or similar CAD/CAM design systems
- Ability to travel up to 25 percent
- Strong communication and organizational skills
