Field Service Engineer - Global Leading Manufacturer

A global leading manufacturer of machinery for the automotive and aerospace industry, to name but a few, is searching for a Field Service Engineer. Facility is north of O’Hare International Airport to support production. As this is a Field Service position, repair and troubleshooting will be done at the customer’s site.

Field Service Engineer Responsibilities Include:

· Set up, operate, troubleshoot and maintenance of CNC machines

· Specify tooling requirements for production

· Test and evaluate equipment

· Read blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery

· Phone support for customers

· Adjust CNC machine settings to complete tasks accuracy, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion

· Other general machine operation duties and responsibilities

Field Service Engineer Requirements Include:

· BS in engineering preferred

· Several years of machine tool assembly and servicing experience

· Strong mechanical, pneumatic testing or debugging.

· Electrical and pneumatic controls experience a huge plus

· At least a year of CNC machines experience is required

· Strong problem-solving skills

· Must have excellent communication skills in both written/verbal English

· 80 percent domestic business travel including overnight when needed

This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, lift in excess of 50 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
