An international manufacturing company in the Decatur, IN area is looking for a Production Assistant Manager. The ideal candidate will have a management background in a lean manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage production lines and supervise members for each production line
- Train and discipline employees
- Ensure team is actively completing the department's development plan
- Supervise daily tasks
- Resolve issues as necessary (service, quality, cost, etc)
- Department budget preparation and coordination
- New model planning
- Create schedule to meet needs
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- 4 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting. (Preferably in the automotive or industrial manufacturing fields)
- Associate’s Degree or Higher in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field or equivalent experience
- Lean Manufacturing, mechanical skills or related experience
- Excellent Communication Skills
- ·Proficient in MS Office suite, especially Excel
·This position is in a manufacturing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 40 pounds, lift in excess of 40 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
