Steel Business Development Specialist - Global Trading Company (35180)

A global trading company is seeking a Steel Business Development Specialist to join their team in Fort Lee, NJ. This position is responsible for customer accounts, handling customer enquiries in a timely manner through a commercial approach: visiting customers, developing new suppliers, establishing reports and advising customers. This is a full-time, exempt position, plus bonus, with excellent benefits and 401k.

Steel Business Development Specialist Duties:

-Quote price and lead times through coordination with procurement department, internal resources and use of pricing matrices

-Responsible for generating sales and meeting budgetary requirements, in terms of both volume and gross margins

-Support sales and Management with forecasting information on the status of customer activity and future opportunities

-Responsible for liaising with the logistics team regarding scheduling and follow up of deliveries

-Strengthening existing customer relationships & developing new potential ones

-Marketing analysis: to monitor & evaluate the local competitors and follow the market evolution for the particular area

-Provide accurate and informative market reports

-Proper coordination with the dedicated member from the project sales team for better knowledge of the upcoming projects

-Responsible for updating the sales database, preparing sales reports as required by the management for that particular region

-Establishing new sourcing strategies and new suppliers for Steel and Metal.

-Other duties as assigned

Steel Business Development Specialist Skills:

-Prefers to have a bachelor’s degree or relevant experience

-Prefers to have 2~3 years of outside sales experience in the steel industry

-Has strong personal skills, team player and capable of taking initiative and strong pleasant personality

-Autonomous, motivated, and able to handle on-time customer requirements

-Has a flexible mindset, enterprising, enthusiastic, willing to learn

-Available for frequent business trips to domestic and international (North America, South America and Asia)
