POSITION PURPOSE:

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for performing a wide variety of administrative support duties to facilitate the efficient operations of the company.   

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Provide a courteous and professional demeanor as first point of contact at Afton, both on the phone and in-person.  

• Answer and direct phone calls. 

• Respond to customer emails as needed.

• Create and receive purchase orders in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

• Input labor and material consumption into ERP system.  

• Invoice all shipped orders and send invoices to customers.

• Act as a liaison for office service vendors such as janitorial, coffee, copier, and pest control.

• Process all transfer orders for Afton product to other Activar Plastic Product Group companies.

• Order, maintain and stock office, bathroom and breakroom supplies. 

• Process and fulfill all customer requests for Afton literature and monitor inventory levels of marketing documents. 

• Organize and maintain electronic and hard copy document storage.

• Maintain knowledge of all company products, services, and promotions offered.

• Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines.

• Other special projects and duties as assigned by management.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills. 

• Highly motivated “self-starter” attitude. 

• Strong oral and written communication skills. 

• Resourceful and cooperative attitude.  

• Tenacity in overcoming obstacles while maintaining productive and positive working relationships.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality. 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the capacity to learn new systems.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• One plus years of administrative support experience. 

 

Preferred:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related discipline. 

• Experience in a manufacturing environment. 

• Experience with ERP systems.  

• Experience in the plastics industry.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk throughout the building.  The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.   

 

Starting Pay Range: $22.00 to $25.00/hour 

Benefits: Only Earned Sick & Safe Leave
