As the Controller at Activated Insights, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial foundation of a rapidly growing, acquisitive company. With responsibility for all accounting, treasury, and payroll functions, you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial reporting to private equity sponsors, the board of directors, lenders and other stakeholders.
- Support the establishment of financial and operational benchmarks, and define key performance indicators to track performance.
Accounting Operations:
- Oversee and manage the accounting team, including accounts payable (AP), general ledger (GL), and payroll.
- Identify, develop, implement, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and enhance the accuracy of financial statements.
- Assist with management of cash flow, including forecasting and optimizing liquidity.
- Coordinate external audits, working closely with auditors to develop efficient audit plans and resolve issues promptly.
- Oversee the relationship with the third-party tax firm to ensure tax compliance and reporting, including federal, state, and local taxes.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Partner with FP&A to support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Provide financial insights into key SaaS metrics (e.g., annual recurring revenue, customer acquisition cost, net and gross retention, etc.) to guide strategic decision-making.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Build, lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team based in our Tampa office to foster a high-performance, collaborative culture.
- Drive continuous improvement in team processes and performance, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Collaborate with FP&A, operations, and executive leadership to support financial strategy, reporting, and decision-making.
- Cultivate cross-functional relationships to ensure accurate financial data and alignment across departments.
System Optimization & Scalability:
- Drive the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and processes to support the company’s growth and scalability.
- Leverage technology to streamline accounting operations, improving data integrity, efficiency, and decision-making capabilities.
- Continuously assess and optimize systems to ensure they meet evolving business needs and support future growth.
M&A Integration:
- Support financial due diligence and integration for acquisitions, aligning processes and systems post-acquisition.
- Partner with the CFO to analyze acquisition performance.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required.
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles in high-growth SaaS or tech companies.
- Public accounting experience with a national CPA firm preferred.
- Proven expertise in SaaS revenue models and ASC 606 compliance.
- Demonstrated experience with M&A financial due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
- Strong knowledge of private equity-backed environments and investor reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in financial systems.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with competing priorities.
Location:
- On-site at our Tampa, FL office
Schedule:
- Full time, 40 hours each week
- Monday through Friday, core business hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM locally with occasional flexibility for collaboration across time zones or to meet critical deadlines.
