We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our amazing team!
Responsibilities:
Abiding by HIPPA and office codes of conduct
Interacting with both patients and clinic staff in a courteous, professional, and friendly manner
Working along-side our nurse practitioner in chart preparation, rooming patients, collecting vitals, completing a pre-visit assessment, preparing for procedures.
Timely, efficient, yet thorough chart documentation of all patient care interactions as outlined by clinic procedure and provider/physician direction.
Practicing within the domains and restraints of his/her certification
Assisting physician or nurse practitioner under their supervision in patient care and clinic procedures
Returning telephone calls and taking messages from patients, consultants, and other entities of patient care coordination the same day. Calling patients with results of labs, imaging, diagnostics, or other patient care items as directed by our nurse practitioners.
Triaging patient care calls, and assisting in coordinating actionable items
Immunization administration
Intramuscular and Subcutaneous injections as instructed by the provider
Preventative care measure tracking (Ex: Mammograms, Colonoscopy, PAP, etc)
Lab slip preparation for routine screening as per established protocols, and as directed by provider
Phlebotomy and processing of specimens for pick-up
In-house point of care labs as ordered by provider
Referral coordination to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
Prior-Authorization processing
Form preparation for provider completion
Maintain cleanliness in all patient care and staff areas
Be versatile in completing needed clinic assignments or projects as requested by supervisor and leadership

Education:
Registered/certified Medical Assistant having graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant Program in good standing.
Current certification from a nationally recognized organization, such as AAMA or NHA required.
Maintenance of certification, without lapse.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year experience in clinical setting
Experience in family practice clinical setting strongly preferred
Knowledge and Skill:
Pediatric and adult injections
Phlebotomy Skills
Familiarity with medical software and equipment
Ability to build rapport with patients
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
Ability to work as a team, as well as independently without direct supervision.
