What are the responsibilities and job description for the Innovation and Systems Director position at Active Generations?
As an Innovation and Systems Director, you will enhance our technology infrastructure by spearheading software implementations, optimizing digital workflows, and providing end-user support. This role will focus on improving operational efficiency through system automation, database management, communicate with outside vendors, and troubleshoot technical issues.
30 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Software Implementation & Optimization: Lead the research, selection, and implementation of new software solutions to enhance organizational workflows and efficiency.
- Database Management: Develop and maintain Airtable and other database-driven solutions to support internal tracking, reporting, and process automation.
- Process Automation: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows by integrating software solutions, automating manual tasks, and improving data accessibility.
- End-User Support: Provide technical support to staff, troubleshooting software, cloud-based applications, and network connectivity issues.
- System Administration: Manage user accounts, permissions, and access within platforms such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and other organizational tools.
- Cybersecurity & Data Integrity: Support security best practices, educate staff on cybersecurity awareness, and ensure compliance with internal IT policies.
- Collaboration & Training: Work closely with teams to assess technology needs, train staff on new systems, and develop user-friendly documentation for IT processes.
- Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with external IT vendors and service providers to troubleshoot advanced technical issues and implement software solutions.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or software implementation.
- Proficiency in Airtable, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and cloud-based applications.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in software configurations, system integrations, and data management.
- Experience with automation tools such as Zapier, Power Automate, or similar.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train and support non-technical users.
- Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading technology initiatives or software rollouts in a nonprofit or service-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with IT ticketing systems and process documentation.
- Knowledge of APIs and system integrations.
