Therapeutic Support Specialist (Preschool, Ages 2–5)
The Therapeutic Support Specialist provides individualized behavioral and emotional support to children ages 2–5 in a preschool setting. This role works closely with teachers, families, and support staff to implement strategies that promote social-emotional growth and manage challenging behaviors in a developmentally appropriate manner. Responsibilities include observing and documenting behaviors, modeling effective interventions, facilitating small-group or one-on-one therapeutic activities, and helping to create and implement individualized support or behavior intervention plans. The specialist ensures a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with young children in a therapeutic, special education, or behavioral support setting.
- Background in early childhood education, child development, psychology, social work, or a related field.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, positive behavior intervention strategies, and early childhood mental health.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with teachers, families, and external support professionals.
- Experience with documentation and progress monitoring preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
